FG BANS CREATION OF NEW TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS FOR SEVEN (7) YEARS

The Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has imposed a Seven (7) years ban on the creation of new federal universities, polytechnics and colleges of education. This decision was based on the existence of institutions not serving their purpose, pressure on public resources, and a decline in academic standard.

The proposal which led to the approval of the Federal Executive Council at his meeting on Wednesday presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja was sequel to a presentation by Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Honorable minister of Education.
