Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored a superb debut goal in the SIXTH minute of stoppage time as Everton snatched a 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Bryan Mbeumo had broken the deadlock early in the second half, but there was a dramatic finish to come.
Tyrique George equalised seven minutes from time, only for Benjamin Sesko to put Man Utd back in front in the 88th minute.
But Everton fought until the last second to maintain their unbeaten Premier League start, with Maitland-Niles’ long-range rocket nestling into the top-left corner with virtually the final kick.
How the match unfolded
Just eight minutes in, Man Utd’s Luke Shaw was afforded space down the left, and his clipped cross was nodded down by Mbeumo. Bruno Fernandes met it on the volley, but with Pickford beaten, his effort crashed off the crossbar.
Matheus Cunha then latched onto Marcus Rashford’s pullback only to blaze over the bar, but Everton went on to finish the first half in the ascendency, with an unmarked Thierno Barry thumping his header just over.
Man Utd came flying out of the blocks in the second half and within 60 seconds of the restart, they went 1-0 ahead. Kobbie Mainoo switched play out to Mbeumo on the right, and the Cameroonian cut inside, skipping past two defenders before brilliantly bending his shot into the far-bottom corner.
The Red Devils continued to provide a threat on the counter-attack, with Rashford driving into the box and flicking the ball back to Cunha, but James Tarkowski timed his tackle perfectly to deny him a shot at a gaping goal.
Man Utd failed to clear their lines in the 83rd minute, and Hayden Hackney laid the ball off to George on the right of the box, where he rifled it into the top corner at the near post.
Super-sub Sesko then drifted away from his marker in the box to nod Shaw’s cross in from close range five minutes later.
But the action was not done yet, and as the clock ticked into the 96th minute, Noussair Mazraoui attempted to poke the ball clear but played it to Maitland-Niles, whose first-time finish flew past Senne Lammens.
The draw moves Everton up to eighth on five points, with Man Utd sitting 11th, one point further back.
