CHRISTIAN CHUCKWU’S DEATH, SHOCKING, SAYS SHEHU SANNI

Shehu Sani, a Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District has expressed grief at the demise of Christian Chukwu, ex head coach of the super eagles.

 

The former Enugu Rangers coach was reported to have died at the age of 74 in his home state of Enugu on Saturday morning.

 

The occurrence was disclosed by Dr. Olusegun Odegbami, a friend and longtime team mate of the deceased via a post on his official X handle on Saturday.

 

In a swift reaction to the announcement via his X handle, Senator Shehu Sani expressed shock, noting that the country has its best football captain in history.

 

Sani wrote, “Christian Chukwu: The news of the death of ex-Super Eagles Captain and coach is shocking. The nation has lost the best football captain in the nation’s history.

 

“He belongs to the generation of players who never played in Europe but won trophies for Nigeria. Chukwu was a star among the legends. Chukwu made football a meal for Nigerians in the 80s. In his interview last year, he revealed that his salary had been unpaid for 19 years. Adieu, the Chairman.”
