BROTHERS ARRESTED FOR SUSPECTED ROBBERY IN ONDO

Two brothers suspected of robbery have been arrested by the officials of the Ondo State Police Command following a raid on a mechanic workshop in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area.

 

It was gathered on Sunday that the suspects, identified as Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, were apprehended on Saturday, after officers from the Divisional Police Office in Ore acted on a credible tip-off.

 

The command, in a statement on Sunday by DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed that weapons, including a locally fabricated pistol and one live cartridge, were recovered in a raid of the suspect’s hideout.

 

“Acting on a credible tip-off from a reliable source, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at about 5:15 p.m., the Divisional Police Officer, Ore, led his team to raid a mechanic workshop located off Okitipupa Road, Ore,” the statement read.

 

“During the operation, two suspects — one Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, both males and residents of Ore — were arrested.

 

“A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol with one live cartridge.”

 

The statement added, “The suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to unravel the source of the firearm and ascertain possible links with other criminal elements in the area.”

 

The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, was quoted as having commended the officers for their swift and professional response.

 

He thanked members of the public for their timely information, urging continued community cooperation to enhance security.
