BREAKING: Wike Orders Takeover of PDP National Secretariat Over Unpaid Ground Rent

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate takeover of the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja after the party failed to pay ground rent for 20 years.

In an official notice, the FCT Administration stated that the party owed rent on Plot No. 243, Central Area, Abuja, from January 1, 2006, to January 1, 2025. Despite multiple newspapers and electronic media reminders since 2023, the PDP failed to settle the outstanding bills.

Citing the Land Use Act, the administration revoked the party’s Right of Occupancy, declaring that the land now belongs to the government. Officials are set to take possession of the property immediately.
