In celebration of World Youth Day 2025, youth advocate and community leader Bolaji Omotayo Daramola (BOD) has called for a shift from temporary handouts to long-term investment in young people’s futures.
Speaking on Tuesday, Daramola praised the courage, creativity, and determination of young people worldwide, describing them as “not just the leaders of tomorrow, but the changemakers of today.”
“This year’s World Youth Day reminds us of the urgent need to equip our youth with opportunities, skills, and platforms to grow, it’s about creating an environment where their dreams can thrive and their potential can be fully realised”, he said.
Daramola reaffirmed his commitment to mentoring, supporting, and opening doors for the next generation, noting that empowering young people ultimately strengthens entire communities.
“When they rise, the future of our communities rises too,” he added.
World Youth Day is celebrated annually to recognise the role of young people in shaping a better future.
