As a part of bold moves aimed at choring-up security and improving public safety in Anambra State, The Anambra State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has received 30 Toyota Hilux patrol vehicles from the Anambra State Government.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Command spokesperson made this disclosure in a statement released on Thursday stated Professor Soludo presented the vehicles at ceremony held at Old Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
According to Ikenga, during the ceremony where the operational vehicles were handed over to the Police Command, the governor expressed that this gesture signifies the state government’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force in its efforts to enhance security and safety throughout Anambra State.
Furthermore, the spokesperson noted that, at the presentation, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ikioye Orutugu, officially introduced to the governor 28 newly graduated Assistant Superintendents of Police, all of whom are indigenes of Anambra, and have been assigned to serve in Anambra State.
“The presentation was made by the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, at the Old Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
During the event, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, formally presented to the governor, 28 Anambra indigenes newly passed-out Assistant Superintendents of Police who have been posted to Anambra State following the successful completion of their training at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano and Presidential commissioning into the Officers’ Cadre of the Nigeria Police Force.
“CP Orutugu noted that the addition of the patrol vehicles, coupled with the deployment of the newly commissioned officers, will significantly enhance Police visibility, response time, and overall operational efficiency across the State.
“While receiving the officers, Governor Soludo urged them to uphold the ideals and values of Anambra State, charging them to truly embody the State’s slogan by being “a Light to the Nation” through exemplary service, discipline, and professionalism.
“The governor further emphasised the importance of dedication, integrity, and commitment to duty in sustaining peace and security.
“Similarly, while handing over the operational vehicles to the Police Command, the governor stated that the gesture represents the state government’s continued demonstration of support to the Nigeria Police Force in its drive to improve security and safety across Anambra State.”
