Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa praised late former Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu for his exemplary service and indelible impact on the state and nation as his body of the former Governor was received in Akure today. Â Â Â Â Â
Speaking at the Commendation Service, Governor Aiyedatiwa described Akeredolu as a true patriot who selflessly led the state, leaving an enduring legacy.
He highlighted Akeredolu’s commitment to justice, liberty, prosperity, rule of law, human rights, good governance, and courage. The governor acknowledged Akeredolu’s outspoken stance against inequality and divisive forces, emphasizing his dedication to the supremacy of the rule of law.
Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to the Akeredolu family, especially the late governor’s wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, for the invaluable gift of a leader who made extraordinary contributions to the state and Nigeria.
Several dignitaries, including governors from Kwara and Bayelsa, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, and the Minister of State for Youths, Mr. Ayo Olawande, attended the lying-in-state and commendation service.
Governor Aiyedatiwa concluded by expressing gratitude to Akeredolu for pioneering a new era in Ondo State.
