“Death is not a period that ends the great sentence of life but a comma that punctuates it with more lofty significance. Death is not a blind alley that leads the human race into a state of nothingness, but an open door that leads man into eternal ” -Martin Luther King Jr.

A deluge of tributes has been recorded following the passing away of His Imperial Majesty Oba Dr. Lawrence Oluwole Babajide, Bamigbala 1, the Oluoke of Okeigbo Kingdom, who left an imprint on mankind.

His imperial majesty was born on July 23rd, 1931, and joined his ancestors on April 30th, 202 after five years of a successful reign on the throne of his forefathers.

Oba Babajide was a successful businessman, medical practitioner, and administrator. He was also a man who embodied the virtues of humility, piety, patriotism, and passion for peace, justice, and developments, traits that made him stand out during his lifetime on earth.

Oba Babajide influenced the establishment of a bank, the construction of roads, and many other developmental milestones for the benefit of the people. Despite the notion that all mortals must eventually pass away, the Okeigbo
kindred was shocked and devastated by his Imperial Majesty’s passing.

May history graciously always remember him for his sterling efforts on gigantic projects where he generously contributed a significant amount of his personal riches to the growth and development of Okeigbo Kingdom.

Oba Babajide has transcended to the realm of his ancestors; until we meet again, your drums beat on and your legacy lives. May God grant the departed soul a restful repose.
