‎LAWMAKER DONATES NOTEBOOK TO SCHOOLS IN OSUN STATE

by Adeyinka Adetan

A total of 20,000 exercise notebooks have been distributed to students in public primary and secondary schools within the Ife North Local Government Area by Akinyode Oyewusi, the Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly.

‎Speaking at the event on behalf of the donor, Segun Amure, who represented Ife North State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, said the initiative was part of Oyewusi’s continued investment in education.

‎“This is the second phase of Oyewusi’s educational intervention programme. With the latest exercise, the total number of notebooks distributed under the initiative has risen to 35,000, following the 15,000 notebooks distributed in 2023. We are distributing 20,000 notebooks today. Pupils from 65 schools are benefiting.

‎“This intervention is designed not only to ease the financial burden on parents, but also to encourage pupils and students to pursue academic excellence and realise their full potential. Our teachers deserve our sincere appreciation for their sacrifices and unwavering commitment. They are shaping the future by moulding the minds and character of our children.

‎“This intervention is not a one-off gesture. We will continue to support initiatives that promote learning, reduce the burden on parents and encourage our young people to strive for excellence, because the future of Ife North depends on the quality of education our children receive.

‎“Beyond the distribution of 35,000 exercise notebooks, our educational interventions have also included the distribution of over 600 UTME forms to deserving students across Ife North. That aimed at expanding access to tertiary education and supporting academically promising youths in the constituency.”
