In Irawo, Atisbo Local Government Area of Oyo State, a businessman had been kidnapped by suspected gunmen. A 10 year old girl was also reportedly injured in the attack.
The victim was said to have been trailed from Kraal Market, Ago-Are, to his filling station and later to his residence before being forcefully taken to an unknown location by his assailants.
Olayinka Ayanlade, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command stated that an official report of the occurrence was made at Tede Division at about 10:20 p.m. on May 11, 2026.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that one Alhaji Wasiu Aleshinloye was allegedly trailed from Kraal Market, Ago-Are, to his filling station at Irawo and subsequently to his residence at Irawo, where he was abducted at gunpoint by three armed men to a yet-to-be-identified destination.”
“During the incident, one Modinat Aleshinloye, female, aged 10 years, sustained gunshot injuries and was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical attention and extraction of pellets.”
“Three expended shells of ammunition (currently undergoing ballistic examination) and three face caps were recovered for forensic investigation. Tactical and intelligence-driven efforts are currently ongoing to rescue the victim unhurt and apprehend the perpetrators.”
