A residential building in Lomu community, Umunze, in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State has been reportedly razed by an inferno.
Chukwudi Chiketa, the Head of the Media and Publicity Unit of the Anambra State Fire Service stated that the inferno razed the building but the surrounding buildings were prevented from being razed.
“The Anambra State Fire Service attended to a fire incident that occurred on Thursday, 2026, at Lomu Village, Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area.
“The service received a distress call at 1448 hours, and firefighters from the Anambra State Fire Service responded promptly, arriving at the scene.”
Preliminary findings pointed to electrical faults as the cause of the fire while also calling on residents to ensure that they contract licensed and professional electricians for repairs in their houses.
