Oba Akeem Owoade, the Alaafin of Oyo has announced the appointment of Bilaal Akinola, as the new chief Imam of Oyo land.
Bode Durojaye, the Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin made the disclosure via an official statement released in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
According to the state, the media helmsman noted that the office became vacant following the demise of Mashood Ajokidero III, who passed to glory in the year 2023.
Owoade said, “Having passed through the screening test, I have the pleasure to inform you that you have been selected by me as the new Chief Imam of Oyo.
“The moment is not only significant for our people, but also sacred in the eyes of Allah, for leadership in Islam is a truth that demands humility, sincerity and justice.”
