Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde, the Ranking Member representing Ondo East and West Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, extended heartfelt congratulations to the Ondo East United FC football team for their remarkable victory at the Dr. Abiola Makinde Senatorial Football Competition held at the Ondo State Sport Complex in Akure.
In a message shared on his official Facebook page, the senatorial aspirant extended his congratulations to the Ondo East United FC for their triumph in the tournament. They emerged victorious by defeating their counterparts from Ifedore Local Government Area in the highly anticipated final match.
“Yesterday, the final match of the inaugural Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde Senatorial Football Competition was held, and the Ondo East United FC emerged victorious as the champion of the Central region. They defeated their Ifedore counterparts in the match.”
The Federal Lawmaker expressed sincere appreciation to the organizer of the competition, Makinz Football Academy and their CEO, Coach Akinboni Benson Osebaba for putting the competition together and coordinating support/management staffs for the overall success of the competition.
“I express my gratitude to the organizers of this competition, Makinz Football Academy, their CEO, Coach Akinboni Benson Osebaba, and the management staff for their seamless and successful execution of the event. I also extend my appreciation to the match officials, sports officials, stadium staff, and everyone else who contributed to the smooth running of the competition.”
Honorable Abiola Makinde, therefore, expressed his unwavering commitment and readiness to continuously develop and support programs, ideas, and initiatives that showcase the ingenuity of young people across various domains of human endeavor, including sports, entertainment, and skill acquisition.
“I will continue to identify areas where we can enhance the skills and passion of our youth and provide them with the necessary support to develop in entertainment, sports, skill acquisition, or any other relevant field.”
The competition which was designed to bring together youths from the Ondo Central Senatorial District, create a platform for the exhibition of their skills and potentials as well as curb youth restiveness saw six team compete for the ultimate price.
Prizes ranged from One Million Naira for the first position, Five Hundred Thousand Naira for the first runner-up, and Two Hundred and Fifty thousand Naira for the second runner-up respectively.
