POLICE PROBE KWARA ROBBERY INCIDENT

The Kwara State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has disclose that it has commenced thorough and comprehensive investigation into an alleged robbery incidence that took place at Rore/Arandun road in Irepodum Local Government Area of the state, with a death toll of two individuals.

 

Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the command’s spokesperson explained that “two people  were killed  allegedly by the same gang of gunmen at different locations while carrying out their criminal operation around Rore and Arandun communities.”

 

According to the statement, a 40-year-old security guard at a residence in Rore who put up frantic effort to prevent the assailant from gaining access into the compound was shot dead.

 

“The other was described as a 38-year-old driver of a vehicle passing through the highway from Ora community in Osun State with loads of farm produce.”

 

“He was said to have been shot dead while a passenger in the vehicle sustained a serious injury,” the statement said.

 

She explained further that the corpse of the two victims of the robbery incident has been deposited at the morgue in line with standard operational procedure even as the police commence investigation into the matter.

 

“The Kwara State Police Command confirms an unfortunate armed robbery and culpable homicide incident which occurred at about 06:30 hours on Thursday, 28th August 2025, along Rore/Arandun highway, Irepodun LGA.

 

“Armed hoodlums attacked the residence of a businessman, Mr Oyetoyan Dare, during which his private security guard, Mr Wale Ajiboye, aged 40, was fatally shot while resisting their attempt to gain entry into the residence.
