ZONE 14 GETS NEW AIG

Umar Nadada has assumed duty as the 8th Assistant Inspector-General of Police at Zone 14 Headquarters, Katsina.

‎He began his role on January 5, 2026, bringing extensive experience, strategic skills, and a commitment to effective policing and public trust.

‎ASP Umar Muhammad, Police Public Relations Officer in charge of Zone 14 made this disclosure in an official statement released to newsmen on Tuesday.

‎“Nadada is a seasoned police officer who has served in various operational, investigative and administrative capacities across the country, making significant contributions to internal security and police reforms.

‎“The new AIG hails from the Rano Local Government Area of Kano State. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Biology from Bayero University, Kano, obtained in 1989, and a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, earned in 2010.

‎“He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and underwent professional training at the Nigeria Police Academy, Annex, Kaduna.

‎“Throughout his career, Nadada has served in several strategic leadership positions, including as Staff Officer Junior at the Niger State Command; Divisional Crime Officer in Bida and Minna; Officer-in-Charge of Madalla Police Station; Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Robbery Section and General Investigation at the State CID in Minna; and Divisional Police Officer in multiple divisions across Niger, Ekiti, Kaduna and Anambra states.

‎“He also served as Assistant and Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Nasarawa State, Commissioner of Police in Katsina and Nasarawa states, and most recently as Assistant Inspector-General of Police in the Department of Research and Planning at the Force Headquarters, Abuja”, the statement read.

‎Nadada encouraged residents of Kaduna and Katsina states to remain law-abiding and support the police with timely information to combat crime effectively.
