WE WILL IMPROVE TROOP WELFARE AND OPERATIONAL SUPPORT ‎

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has provided assurance to officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army regarding improved welfare measures designed to enhance morale and operational efficiency.

‎According to a statement released on Wednesday by the Army’s spokesperson, Colonel Appolonia Anele, General Shaibu conveyed this assurance while addressing the troops of the 18 Brigade at Latini Barracks in Bida, Niger State.

‎He emphasized that the Nigerian Army is steadfast in its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of its personnel and their families, recognizing this as a crucial element in achieving sustained operational success.

‎“Nigerian Army, under my leadership remains fully committed to prioritising the welfare of troops and their families as a critical factor in achieving sustained operational success.

‎The welfare of personnel is receiving serious and continuous attention,” Shaibu was quoted as saying.

He encouraged them to maintain steadfastness in diminishing and neutralizing bandits and terrorists in order to restore public confidence and bolster security.

 

Furthermore, the Chief of Army Staff revealed intentions to build additional accommodation facilities and to set up skills acquisition centers aimed at enhancing the well-being and economic empowerment of the families of the troops.

The Army Chief has been present in Niger State since Tuesday, engaging in discussions with former Heads of State, Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, along with Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago. During these meetings, he has reiterated the Army’s dedication to achieving operational excellence, enhancing security, and fostering collaboration with state governments and national leaders.

‎On Wednesday, he paid a visit to the palace of the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar. The purpose of his visit was to evaluate the current military deployments, identify any operational deficiencies, and ascertain areas that require additional troops and resources.
