Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reassured students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, that his administration is actively addressing the institution’s major challenges.
The Governor conveyed this commitment during an impromptu interaction with thousands of students who warmly received him at the school’s gate in Owo.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Governor Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the pressing issues, particularly the arrears of salaries and entitlements for teaching and non-teaching staff.
He revealed that steps were being taken to address these challenges, citing past financial support of 850 million naira during his tenure as Acting Governor.
The Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele, has been directed to engage with the institution’s management to find lasting solutions and prevent disruptions to the academic calendar. The Governor’s assurance comes as a response to the students’ display of love and solidarity during his visit.
