UNIJOS ASUU DECLARES STRIKE OVER UNPAID JUNE SALARY

The Academic Staff Union of Universities University of Jos branch has directed its members to commence a strike action as a result of the non payment of June 2025 salaries.

 

Prof Jurbe Molwus, The chairman of ASUU in the institution issued the directives in a message made available to members of the union on Thursday night.

 

The message read: “This is to request all members to abstain from lectures and statutory meetings if our salary for the month of June 2025 is not paid by 11:59 pm today, 3rd July 2025.

 

“This is in line with the extant NEC resolution that branches should take action when salary is not paid by the third day of a new month and our congress resolution of 4th June 2025 affirming this position.

 

“The action takes effect from 12:01 am on Friday, 4th July 2025.

 

“Please ensure full compliance until you are communicated to resume work.

 

“The strike monitoring team of the branch will be activated to monitor compliance.”
