‎TWO INJURED AS INFERNO RAZES WOMAN LEADER HOUSE IN KEBBI

The residence of APC Zonal Woman Leader, Hajiya Fatima Mairiga, in the Don Etiebet area of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital has been reported engulfed by an inferno that left two persons injured and property destroyed.

‎Dr. Mohammed Goje, the Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency while speaking to Journalists on the matter explained that the agency received the report at about 8:00 pm and immediately mobilised its rescue team to the scene.

‎“Our team responded swiftly to the call and worked hard to contain the fire. We extinguished it before it spread to neighbouring houses, minimising further damage. Two people sustained minor injuries, but they were quickly evacuated to a medical facility and treated, and I am glad to report that both have been discharged in stable condition,” Dr Goje said.

‎“Our officers acted quickly and professionally, ensuring that the blaze did not escalate. We commend the quick response of our personnel, who worked tirelessly under challenging conditions to safeguard lives and property,” he added.

‎“SEMA is committed to rapid response and the protection of lives and property. Our officers are on alert 24/7 to respond to emergencies anywhere in the state, and we continue to monitor situations closely to prevent loss and harm.”

‎“We urge everyone to be vigilant, adhere strictly to fire safety measures, and ensure that any incident is immediately reported to the relevant authorities. Quick reporting can save lives and property,” he said, noting that assessment of the affected property is ongoing and that further updates would be provided as necessary.
