The Green Campus Initiative environmental romance on V-Day

The Green Campus Initiative had a special treat with mother earth on St. Valentine’s Day, this was in a way to show love to the environment which has suffered greatly due to the activities of man. This year’s romance with the environment brings to fore the words of Prof. Niyi Osundare in “Ours to Plough not to Plunder” Ours to man not to maim; the members of GCI manned the immediate Adeyemi College of Education environment in an early morning community service, picking up pieces of paper and restoring cleanliness.

In a bid to further intensify the importance of nurturing the earth, there was an evening picnic tagged ‘Love Affair” in partnership with Rev. Ken Igbinedion’s Kingdom Life International Ministry (KLIM). The founder of the Green Campus Initiative, Adenike Akinsemolu, in her short talk highlighted the importance of seeing every day as environment’s day, conserving resources, practicing self care through exercise.

There were special performances to spice up the event by Olayinka Ojo, Green Ministers, The Chosen Choreographers, and solo drama by Samuel Bliss. Check some of the pictures from the event.
