Alabi Anthony, a 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection to an alleged raping and killing of a woman, Olaseni Veronica, at Iboropa community in Akoko North-East Local Government Area by men of the Ondo State Police Command.
In a statement released by Abayomi Jimoh, the Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, the operative involved in the operation acted based on credible intelligence involving tracking the deceased’s missing phone, which led to the arrest of the suspect.
“The suspect has confessed to the crime, admitting to having carnal knowledge of the victim and thereafter strangling her to death.
“The command condemns this heinous and inhumane act and assures the public that justice will be diligently pursued.
According to the statement, the suspect has been transferred to the state colman headquarters for proper investigation and subsequent prosecution.
