Students and Police clash in Owo: Student allegedly killed

Trouble broke out as a student of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo was allegedly shot by an unidentified police officer.
It was gathered that a police patrol van allegedly hit some students of the institution and ran away. This was said to have triggered the students to protest to the ‘B’ Division Police Station in Owo.
It was also gathered that the policemen instead of attending to the students started firing tear gas on sighting the protesting students. This development was reported to have enraged the students to the extent of destroying vehicles at the station.
The situation however turned bloody when an unidentified student of the institution was allegedly shot by police men at the station.
