Sowore Faces Cyber-Stalking Charge in Abuja

The presidential candidate of the AAC in the 2023 presidential election, Omoyele Sowore has been arraigned in court for an offense bordering on cyber-stalking.

 

The activist is reportedly facing a three count charges related to cybercrime under the cybercrime (prohibition, prevention, etc) Act, 2015 as amended in 2024.

 

According to the charges filed, IGP Egbetokun countenanced that the activist allegedly caused a publication to be made through his X handle wherein he labeled Egbetokun as an illegal IGP.

It was also noted that the intent of this action is to cause a break down of law and order, and also a threat to the authority of the police.
