Kashim Shettima, the Vice-president of Nigeria has visited Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna State at his residence in Abuja sequel to his mother’s death and burial.
Stanley Nkowcha, the special adviser to the Vice-president on Media and Publicity made this disclosure through a post shared on his X handle on Monday.
“Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived at the Abuja residence of the former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, to personally offer his condolences following the passing of the former governor’s mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai. Hajiya Umma passed away in Cairo, Egypt, on Friday after a brief illness at an advanced age.
According to the post, Shettima eulogized the late matriarch as a woman of virtue and a great support system for the family at large.
He prayed for the repose of her soul and also condoled the family while urging them to stay strong in the period of mourning.
