The Senate is currently considering an option to suspend Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for a period of Six (6) month following an investigation by the Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Code of Conduct, which found her in flagrant violation of Senate Rules.
In a list of recommendations read by the committee chairman, Senator Neda Imasuen, the suspension would commence on March 6, 2025.
Among other things, the committee averred that the office of Senator Natasha will be under locks and she will be denied access to the National Assembly premises for the six month period while her salary and that of her aides will be withheld.
The Senate is expected to conduct a vote on the committee’s recommendations and it would strip the Senator of all legislative privilege if the recommendations are upheld.
