An armed robbery attempt near Agric Bank Bus Stop, Independence Layout, in Enugu metropolis on Monday has been thwarted by men of the Enugu State Police Command.
SP Daniel Ndukwe, the Command’s spokesman made this disclosure via a statement released to journalists in Enugu. He mentioned that a male suspect was arrested and an imitation firearm with ammunition was recovered during the operation.
“The suspect, Chimuanya Oshim, 28, was arrested on December 13, around 11:30 p.m., while attempting to rob members of the public.
“The arrest followed a prompt response to a distress call by operatives attached to the Independence Layout Police Division.
“At the scene, operatives caught the suspect robbing a young man and recovered a revolver imitation pistol loaded with eight toy bullets.
“The suspect remains in custody and will be arraigned after investigations are concluded,” Ndukwe said.
