‎RETIREES GRATUITIES, DEATH BENEFITS GET 5BN IN TARABA

Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Executive Governor of Taraba State has granted express approval for the release of ₦5 billion for the payment of outstanding gratuities and death benefits due to retirees and other beneficiaries in the state.

‎Barr. Zainab Usman Jalingo, the Commissioner for Information and Re-orientation made this announcement through the State’s X handle.

‎“Following the release of the funds, the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning has announced that the screening exercise for eligible beneficiaries will commence on Monday, 2nd February, 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters.

‎“The exercise will cover 2015 retirees, alongside a final mop-up of outstanding beneficiaries from the 2013 and 2014 cohorts, paving the way for immediate and transparent disbursement.

‎“Stakeholders, labour leaders, pensioners, and families of deceased workers have warmly commended Governor Agbu Kefas, describing the release of ₦5 billion as a defining moment of responsible governance and a decisive step toward restoring dignity to public service in Taraba State,” the statement read.
