REMO STARS CLINCH FIRST NPFL TITLE

Remo Stars have secured the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League title with three games to spare after a pulsating 1-0 win over Niger Tornadoes in a match-day 35 game in Ikenne on Sunday.

Second-half substitute Olamilekan Adedayo scored a trademark late belter to save the day for coach Daniel Ogunmodede’s side after toiling for 83 minutes.

The win was Remo’s 21st of the season, taking them up to 68 points, and they opened up an unassailable 10-point gap ahead of Rivers United in second place with three games left to play this season.

With the feat, Remo Stars also became the first Southwest club to win the Nigerian topflight title since Julius Berger’s triumph in 1991.
