The French parliament on Wednesday passed a law that makes it illegal to pay for sex in France making them the 5th European country in the world to criminalize prostitution. Hundreds of prostitutes marched to the National Assembly building in Paris to protest following the announcement of the new law.
According to AFP under it is legal to offer your body for sale, but it illegal for someone to pay for it, brothels are now considered illegal.
You will recall that Sweden, Norway, Iceland and the U.K are the first four European countries to illegalize prostitution.
