Police quiz accountant over 7 million naira meant for workers salary

Detectives from the Ondo State Police command have begun to quiz the accountant of the State specialist Hospital, Ikare, Aminu Kamilu for allegedly stealing over 7 million naira meant for the staff’s Salary.

Parading Aminu and the hospital’s secretary, Ayodele Olaniyi at the police headquarters in Akure, the state police commissioner Hilda Ibifuro-Harrison said the duo connived to withdraw from the hospital account the said amount out 24 million naira meant for the November salary.

The police boss said ‎some workers at the bank have also been arrested while investigation is ongoing to ensure all those found culpable are brought to book.

Mrs Ibifuro-Harrison advised heads of organisations closely monitor those entrusted with their finances to prevent cases like this.

‎Speaking to newsmen, the suspect, Aminu accused one Islamic cleric of bewitching him to withdraw the money as payment to him for special prayers and absolved the secretary of involvement in the crime.
