The Ondo State Government on Saturday 12th March, 2016 inaugurated the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) and also held the matriculation ceremony of the first set of admitted students.
The Visitor of the school, Dr Olusegun Mimiko congratulated the matriculating students and urged the lecturers and the student to make use of the world class facilities available at the Medical Village to produce new crops of professionally-competent individuals in the various disciplines of the Health Care Industry. In his words “It is our hope and belief that it will provide sound scientific, technological and professional training to address identified health needs and problems, solve them within the context of community and national needs and sustainable development.”
The event had in attendance professionals from several fields, academics, traditional rulers, entertainers, parents and guardians of the matricualting students, invited guests and friends of the university who turned out en mass to be part of the epoch making event.
