Another House of Representatives member from the People’s Democratic Party has joined the fold of the All Progressives’ Congress in what was described as another loss to the PDP.
Hon. Amos Magaji, the member representing Jaba/Zango Kataf Federal constituency in Kaduna state stated that his decision to jump ship was as a result of the crisis rocking the main opposition party.
The official letter conveying the defection of Hon. Amos Magaji was read during plenary by Hon. Tajudeen Abass who presided over session.
“The unresolved crises in the PDP from the national to the state level has made it difficult for me to remain in the party,” Magaji said.
It is important to note that Hon. Amos Magaji is the third member of the People’s Democratic Party to defect to the APC since the proclamation of the 10th assembly after Chris Nkwonta and Eriatheke Ibori-Suenu, from Abia and Delta States respectively.
However, the minority leader, Hon. Chinda urged the speaker to declare the sit of the Kaduna lawmaker vacant in line with the provision of the constitution in section of 68(1g), stating that there are clearly spelt out consequences for unnecessary defections.
