Ondo To Appoint Transition Committees For LGS, LCDAs

In preparation for the upcoming local government elections in Ondo State, Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has announced plans to appoint transition committees for the 18 Local Government Areas and 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

Addressing former members of Caretaker Committees at the Governor’s Office in Akure, the governor clarified that there is no intention to abolish the recently created LCDAs, emphasizing that it is a legacy to be preserved from the late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Governor Aiyedatiwa informed the 255 former appointees that a court case initiated by the opposition party had halted their inauguration, but efforts are underway to resolve the matter through a political solution approved by the court.

Once the case is withdrawn, corrections to errors in the appointees’ list will be made, and transition committees will be inaugurated. The governor urged the former appointees to demonstrate commitment to the party, emphasizing unity for the progress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. State APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, commended the governor’s unity initiative, and former appointees expressed gratitude and pledged loyalty to the administration.
