The Ondo State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps has announced that it has uncovered an illegal crude reservoir in the state.
DSC Daniel Aidamenbor, the official spokesperson of the corps made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Akure on Tuesday.
Aidamenbor revealed that the discovery of the illegal crude reservoir was made possible by the collaborative effort with the Nigerian Army, and the Tantita Security Services.
He also mentioned that the illegal oil reservoir was located in a forest in Obe-Akingboye, in the Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.
“The Ondo State Commandant, Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye, has issued a stern warning to those involved in illegal dealings in petroleum products to desist or face the full weight of the law.
”He also reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting critical national assets, particularly in the solid minerals sector.”
