‎MIYETTI ALLAH CONDEMNS WANTON KILLINGS IN PLATEAU, OTHER PARTS OF NIGERIA

On Tuesday, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria has described the killings in the Angwan Rukuba community of Jos North Local Government Area in Plateau State as tragic and condemned it in very strong terms.

‎Baba Ngelzarma, the president of the association in a statement released to the public stated that ethnic, religious, and political grievances are never a justifiable reason to kill innocent Nigerians. He also condoled with the family of the victims and the nation at large.

‎“This tragic loss of lives is yet another painful reminder of the unending bloodshed that has plagued Plateau and must not be allowed to continue.

‎“We express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and all those affected by this senseless violence. No grievance—religious, ethnic, or political—justifies the taking of innocent lives.

‎“MACBAN views with grave concern the recurring cycle of violence in Plateau State, which continues to undermine peaceful coexistence and threaten national unity.

‎“The Plateau has suffered too long from division, mistrust, and retaliatory attacks. It is time to break this cycle.

‎“We call on all religious, traditional, and community leaders to exercise restraint, promote dialogue, and actively work towards de-escalating tensions. Words matter. In fragile environments like ours, they can either heal or destroy.

‎“Such actions are irresponsible and dangerous, contributing directly to escalating violence and intolerance in communities. Religious leadership must be a force for unity, not a platform for incitement.

‎“Nigeria cannot afford to normalise mass killings. The sanctity of human life must remain non-negotiable. The time for decisive action is now. Enough of the bloodshed.
