Governor Olusegun Mimiko hosted members of Nigeria Youth Parliament at the banquet hall of the Government House on Saturday 30 January, 2015.
The delegation led by the speaker, Rt. Hon Ayodele Obe, was in Ondo State to align itself with the various youthful programmes of the Mimiko led administration.
The team members could not hide their amazement at the various life impacting projects executed by the Ondo State Government. The Chief Whip of the parliament noted that in Ondo State he saw Government Primary Schools more beautiful and equipped than his State Assembly Complex. On the facilities available at the Ondo State Medical Village, members of the parliament said that it was very difficult to believe such beauty is in Nigeria.
They urged the government not to relent on its oars but continue working for the people of the state.
Rt. Hon Ayodele Obe during his speech said the parliament is on course to play their role in making sure Nigeria works for the youths as the youth are inextricably bound to the country’s future. He also added that the achievements of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko are under-reported as the whole world need to see the people oriented projects of his administration.
Dr. Olusegun Mimiko could not hide his joy as he thanked the parliament members for electing an Ondo State indigene as their Speaker. Governor Mimiko said he believes in the Nigerian project but there is need for more committed and vibrant youths. He informed the gathering that the Federal Ministry of Agriculture will be using Ondo State agricultural template for the country.
