Mimiko to commission 26 projects as Ondo clocks 40

Governor Olusegun Mimiko will commission more than 26 projects across the 3 senatorial district of Ondo State from 9 to 22 of February, 2016. This is part of the activities lined up by the state government to mark the 40 anniversary of the state and the 7 year of the Mimiko led administration.

This hint was dropped by the Commissioner for Economic and Budget Planning who is the Chairman Planning Committee of the event, Mr Akin Adaramola and his Information counterpart Mr Kayode Akinmade at a press briefing in the Governor’s Office, Alagbaka. Some of the projects to commission include; Arakale Road, Medical Village, mechanized abattoir among others.

Mr Akin Adaramola said the event will be celebrated on a low key, as it will afford them to examine the administration’s journey so far and modes of improving on the achievements already recorded.

He noted that “the government has steered the ship of the state to an enviable standards with a number of firsts, not only in Nigeria, but beyond the shores of the African continent, thus benchmarking good governance in our land clime for the good of the people with palpable evidence in health, agriculture, urban renewal, education, social, economic infrastructure, youth and women empowerment among others.”

He informed the gathering that Governor Olusegun Mimiko will make a special broadcast to the people of the state on 3rd February 2016. Mimiko will also have an interactive session with Special Interests Group on 24th February, 2016 to deliberate on key issues for sustainable future.

The former USA Envoy to Nigeria, Mr. Walter Carrington is expected to deliver a Public Lecture at The International Event Centre (The Dome) on the 25th February, 2016.
