Mimiko, Gani Adams, Mrs Popoola, King Sunny Ade and other Dignitaries Illuminate Ekimogun Gala Night

????????????????????????????????????

The Ekimogun Gala Night is the final event which marks the close of activities at the end of the 2015 Ekimogun week.  It is a “faaji” event that is usually attended by the Crème de la Crème of the Ekimogun Society. The event was organized by the Ondo Development Committee with the ACME International Club of Ondo as the official host club of this year’s Ekimogun Gala Night.

To spice up this year’s event the organizers overcame the herculean task of getting the one and only “minister of enjoyment”, the famous juju maestro and iconic singer who is an Ekimoguan (an indigene of Ondo City); King Sunny Ade (KSA) and the African Beats to perform live at the occasion. As if this was not enough, the organizers also brought the one and only prolific Master of Ceremony; the renowned MC Arkbishop, an ‘Ekimoguan’ whose ability with the microphone is well known far and wide to dictate the tune of the event.

The event officially kicked off with the welcome speech by Engineer Raymond Akinyele and thereafter, the Executive Governor of Ondo State, his wife as well the other members of the high table entertained the crowd by graciously dancing to some rhythm from KSA. The chairperson of the occasion; Mrs Nike Popoola delivered her address and with the support of her well wishers notably the Ondo State Governor donated the sum of N2, 000, 000.00. (Two Million) for the Night. In a similar vein, the Special Guest of honour; Erelu Adams in conjunction with her friends also donated the sum of N1, 800, 000.00 (One Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira).

The crowd was duly entertained with assorted foods and drinks and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves as KSA who showed no sign of fatigue kept his audience on their feet all night with his juju music and ensured they left the event centre without anything left in their purses as every penny was sprayed on the juju maestro.
