Mimiko Commissions Oke Agbe Mega School, Begins Rehabilitation of 11km Ikare-Oke Agbe Federal Road

The Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, on Monday, inaugurated yet another Mega Primary School in Oke-Agbe in Akoko North West Local Government Area of the state, bringing to 51 the number of Mega schools built so far by his administration.

One of these schools has been donated to the Federal Government as it is now being used as campus for the newly established Federal Polytechnic Ile Oluji in Ile Oluji Council Area of Ondo State.

Mimiko, at the inauguration ceremony, noted that his administration, through its robust investment in education sector, has brought a lot of development to the sector, as Ondo State has now moved from thirty third position to seventh position in the country.

While saying that the concept of Mega Primary School is a deliberate policy of his government to ensure quality education for children in the state right from the basic level, Governor Mimiko assured that his administration will continue to prioritize education for a better future for children of Ondo State.

Meanwhile, worried by the deplorable state of the Ikare- Oke Agbe-Akoko road, one of the federal roads in the state, the Governor has directed the State Agency for Road Rehabilitation and Maintenance  (OSATMCO) to extend the ongoing rehabilitation of Oke Agbe township road to 11km Ikare-Oke Agbe Akoko Federal road with immediate effect.

The Governor, who described the Federal road  as highly deplorable, noted that his resolve from the inception of his administration was to ensure there was no such bad road in any part of Ondo State, assuring that Ikare-Oke Agbe road rehabilitation will be completed and delivered within three weeks.

According to him, all the road projects carried out by his government are aimed at ensuring comfort for all road users in the eighteen Local Government Areas of the state, and also to facilitate improvement on socio-economic activities of the people of the state.

He equally assured that he would send his Engineers to assess the extent of damages done on Oyin-Ake Agbe with a view of ensuring total rehabilitation of the road.
