Local Government elections begin in Ondo State

The Local Government election began in the early hours of today as voters were seen coming out for accreditation which started around 8.00 am across the state.

Our Correspondent who visited some polling units in Ondo West and East Local Government observed that accreditation have started and that voters conducted them selves in an orderly manner.

The Presiding Officer in Ward One, Unit 008, in an interview with our correspondent said “the turn out for accreditation is a bit encouraging and that more eligible voters are still being expected before the end of accreditation”.

You will recall that a Federal High Court sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, had struck out two cases instituted by the All Progressives Congress in a bit to stop the election, on the grounds of lack of jurisdiction and abuse of court process.
