Kidnapped Lawmaker Found Dead

The member representing Onitsha North 1 constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Justice Azuka has been found dead by security operatives near the Second Niger bridge.

 

Hon. Justice Azuka was reportedly kidnapped along Ugwunaobankpa Road in Inland Town, Onitsha while heading home for Christmas celebration on December 24, 2024.

 

Honorable Justice Azuka was kidnapped at gunpoint in a sting operation that occurred very quickly.

 

Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson of the Anambra Police Command confirmed the the discovery of the decomposing body on Thursday, saying that the decomposing body of the lawmaker was found during a routine patrol by joint security patrol.

 

Ikenga said, “In the early hours of today, 6/2/2025 at the second Niger Bridge, the Joint Security Team comprising of Police and AVG Operatives on a mission to rescue abducted Hon. Azuka, Honourable State House of Assembly member representing Onitsha North, regrettably found his lifeless body at the scene.

 

“As soon as I get more details, I will keep you updated, as the joint security team have taken over the scene and operation is ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspects involved, please.”
