The Kano State Government has mandated all schools in the state -Private and Public- to keep to the approved school calendar for 2024/2025 academic session released by the Ministry of Education.
Mustapha Yahaya, the Director of Special Duties in the state ministry of Education disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday.
“All primary and post-primary schools in Kano state must close on Friday, February 28, 2025, and reopen on Sunday, April 6, 2025,” it reads.
The statement warned that any school that fails to comply will face dire consequences. “Schools that fail to comply with this directive will face appropriate sanctions,” it stated.
The Director noted that the directives aligns with Governor Abba Yusuf’s governance direction to enhance the teaching and learning process while also enhancing balanced and sustainable school services.
“This measure is to ensure improved teaching and learning while promoting balanced and sustainable growth in schools across the state,” the statement added.
