Nonye Soludo, the wife of the Anambra State governor has explained that society stronger is directly proportional to understanding and preserving human rights; stating that everyone deserves the full rights of human dignity and fairness, in celebration of the 2025 World Human Rights Day.
Soludo emphasised that human rights are not negotiable and are as sacred as the values they represent, insisting that no one should be denied the full rights of human dignity.
She made the remarks in a press statement released on Wednesday in commemoration of the 2025 World Human Rights Day.
While speaking on the theme for the year “Let’s stand for equality, freedom, and dignity for all,” she opined that such trivialities such as race, background, gender, and beliefs must be overlooked in our bid to build a better and viable society.
“Human rights are as sacred as the values they represent. Every human deserves the right to live, to safety, to succeed, and to thrive without fear or inhibition.
”It’s true that understanding human rights and preserving them are what make a society stronger and better.
“Our everyday lives rely heavily on how we treat others. We must look beyond differences in race, background, gender and beliefs,” she said.
“This uniqueness should unite us more than it divides us. No one deserves to live in a society ruled by fear, alienation, and extremism.
“Everyone — no matter their creed, cultural, political, and religious differences — deserves the full rights of human dignity and fairness. It’s not negotiable!”
