Governor Aiyedatiwa Approves N200M Loans for Traders, Artisans, SMEs

Various artisan groups in Ondo State have pledged their unwavering support for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as the gubernatorial election draws near.

This declaration of support came during a stakeholders meeting held at the Cocoa Conference Hall within the Governor’s Office premises in Akure.

Led by the President of the Ondo State United Artisans Group, Engr. Daisi Komolafe, artisans from across the state gathered to express their genuine commitment to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership. Praising the governor’s transformative agenda, Komolafe highlighted the voluntary nature of their attendance, emphasizing their collective satisfaction with the current administration.

“Artisans constitute a significant portion of the electorate in Ondo State, comprising 64% of voters, and we unequivocally pledge our support to you,” stated Komolafe, emphasizing the pivotal role artisans play in the state’s socio-economic landscape.

Responding to calls for greater recognition and support for artisans, Governor Aiyedatiwa promptly appointed Komolafe as a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Artisan Matters, citing his exemplary leadership and dedication to artisan welfare.

The governor also announced the allocation of over N200 million in soft loans to traders, artisans, and small-scale businesses across the state.

Expressing gratitude for the artisans’ endorsement, Governor Aiyedatiwa reiterated his commitment to fostering inclusive governance and ensuring the prosperity of all sectors within Ondo State. He urged the newly appointed SSA on Artisan Matters to collaborate with the State Microcredit Agency to facilitate the equitable distribution of financial support, thereby empowering artisans to thrive and contribute to the state’s economic growth.
