Gov inspects School of Nursing projects

Governor Olusegun Mimiko has reiterated his administration’s commitment to doing the necessary to upgrade Primary and Tertiary health facilities across Ondo State for more qualitative health care delivery.

Dr Mimiko made the assertion during an inspection of the ongoing hostels projects at the School of Nursing in Akure.

While inspecting the Two Blocks of hostels with 40 room’s en -suite and Dinning Hall in addition to the existing ones, ‎Mimiko said the projects became necessary to create more conducive environment for learning.

Mimiko who expressed satisfaction with the level of work done was optimistic that the project will be delivered on schedule.

The governor also promised that his administration would ensure that the institution’s environment is properly landscaped.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Dayo Adeyanju said the new hostels would enable government admit more students to meet up with the increasing demands for more health personnel as a result of expanding healthcare programmes in the state.

In her response, the Principal, School of Nursing, Akure, Mrs Idowu Edward thanked Governor Mimiko for his unprecedented support towards taking the school to an enviable heights.

On his part, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Mimiko on Direct Labour, Mr Akin Ige, who is supervising the project said the new hostels are being built according to specifications.
