EKITI MONARCH DIES AGED 82

Oba Olu Adegoke Adeyemi, the Alara of Aramoko Ekiti, Ekiti State is dead. According to a statement released by his family on Saturday, the monarch died at a ripe age of 82.

 

According to the statement, the family eulogized the monarch for his “remarkable leadership, wisdom, and dedication to the welfare of his people.”

 

“Oba Adeyemi’s impact on the community will forever be cherished as testament to his enduring legacies.”

 

The departed monarch who was a teacher, senior civil servant, and Sole Administrator of the former Ifesowapo Local Government before ascending the throne in 2009 was born on December 4, 1942.

 

He also served as Chancellor of Ekiti State University, where, the family said, “he supported initiatives to enhance educational standards and access for local students.”

 

“As the Alara of Aramoko Ekiti, he provided strong leadership that fostered community cohesion and development,” the statement noted, adding that his reign advanced “community development, cultural preservation, conflict resolution, and youth empowerment.”

 

The family also noted in the statement that the burial rites for the late monarch will be announced to the public later.
