Dream Team VI Wins African Under-23 Cup

Nigeria’s U-23 team also known as Dream Team VI have won the African U-23 Cup in Dakar, Senegal.

The Samson Siasia-led team drew the first blood in the first half through Ogenekaro Etebo through a penalty only to give away the lead to Algeria by an own goal to put the scores at 1-1 at the end of the first half.

Nigeria carried the day by scoring the second goal in the second half.

In the third place match played earlier, South Africa defeated host Senegal through a penalty shootout after the game ended goalless at full time.
