The Daramola Adesuyi Foundation (DAF) last week held a graduation ceremony for youths who participated in the Foundation’s maiden edition of its Skill Up programme. The Skill Up project is an intervention designed to make the youths in Ondo Kingdom self sustainable through skills acquisition in a bid to reduce the employment and poverty amongst the youths. This project is in line with the UN Sustainable Goals on Poverty Eradication.
The training for the youths was on Make up and Gele tying, Tye and Die and Basic Microsoft Office package training which delivered at not cost to the participants. In order to make their transition from trainees to full business owner, the DAF decided empowered the graduating students with start up kits running into millions of naira at the graduation ceremony.
Furthermore, the occasion afforded Akorede-Okeremi Ifeoluwa (Kore Africa), Barr Bada M. M (Ondo West Education Secretary), Engr Folajogun Kayode – President, Ondo Ekimogun Youths Congress (OEYC), representatives of Chief Mrs Akinseloyin – Principal, St. Monica’s Grammar School, Ondo and Prof. Mrs Duyilemi – UNIMED opportunity to charge the graduating students with practical life experience and needed confidence to excel in their new craft.
