Court Stopped NLC, TUC Strike

The National Industrial Court, NIC, in Abuja has stopped the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, from going on strike tomorrow.
The Unions had earlier issued a communiqué at the end of an emergency meeting, to embark on a nationwide strike action if the Federal Government refuses to revert the sudden Increase in fuel price.
The President of the National Industrial Court, Justice Babatunde Adejumo, in a suit filed by the Federal Government on Tuesday 17th May, stopped the labour unions from embarking on strike action.
Justice Adejumo further ordered all the parties to maintain status quo until the legal dispute is settled.
The case was adjourned to 24th May, 2016.
